Intercultural Center Programs

Coffee & Mental Health

Coffee & Mental Health is a campuswide program designed to foster open dialogue about the role of mental health in supporting success and well-being in higher education. Guided by licensed therapists and campus professionals, participants will gain insights into the impact of mental health on learning, personal growth, and navigating the demands of college life. The program also highlights the resources and services available through the UA Counseling Center, providing a supportive environment to ask questions, share perspectives, and build awareness. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to join us for meaningful conversation and a warm refreshment while exploring strategies that promote resilience, balance, and community care.

International Coffee Hour

Join us every Friday throughout the academic year for International Coffee Hour, hosted in partnership with International Student and Scholar Services. This weekly gathering provides students, faculty, and staff with the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue, exchange ideas, and broaden their perspectives while learning directly from peers representing diverse cultural backgrounds. Each week features spotlights on cultural traditions, themes, and topics, offering participants the chance to expand their knowledge and be exposed to the world beyond campus. Complimentary coffee, tea, and light snacks are provided, creating a welcoming space for intellectual conversation and connection with friends from around the globe.

Leaders in Service

Leaders in Service is a campuswide series designed to empower students, faculty, and staff to make a positive impact through meaningful service opportunities. Each month, the Intercultural Center will facilitate hands-on initiatives that address community needs while fostering deeper understanding of social responsibility. Through active participation, individuals not only contribute to the well-being of others but also develop leadership skills, build empathy, and strengthen their sense of purpose through civic engagement. This program underscores the educational value of service by connecting participants to broader community contexts and demonstrating the lasting impact of collective action.

Academic Coaching Program

Academic Coaching includes individualized one-on-one sessions with CRLA trained peer coaches and group skill sessions which are designed to help students achieve academic success by connecting them with trained peer coaches and guiding them toward resources and tools that strengthen performance. The program highlights strategies that contribute to student success, including effective study habits, time management, and goal setting. Participants also receive supplemental materials that outline proven techniques for success, providing practical guidance they can apply throughout their college experience.

Study Abroad Pop-Up Advising

Study Abroad Pop-Up Advising sessions provide students with the opportunity to learn more about international academic experiences and how they can complement their degree programs. Offered on a first-come, first-served basis, these sessions connect students with advisors who can answer questions, outline program options, and highlight the educational, professional, and personal benefits of studying abroad. Open to all UA students, these sessions are designed to help participants explore how global learning can expand their perspectives and enhance their success at the Capstone and beyond.
